Firmoo Glasses Review

I really enjoy wearing these Firmoo glasses around even though they are clear lenses and I actually have 20/20 vision- but who doesn't like to act like a different person or at least change up their look once in a while? Maybe when I actually need glasses one day, I'll put prescription lenses in these. I really do see myself wearing them in the future when I actually need them! Naturally, I was curious what I would look like wearing reading glasses, now I know! These glasses came with their own polishing cloth and protective case, as well! They are so fun! Thank you, Firmoo ♥.

Outfit: Working for the Weekend

I recently landed a job as a Costume Rental lady at shop called Dallas & Co. Costumes and Magic. I've been working 40 hours a week and it's tiring but I am learning so much about renting and fixing costumes, helping customers achieve the make up design they're dreaming up, and putting together costumes for customers. It is really great experience and a great stepping stone for my future career! I am content because I get to sew and that makes me so happy! I will share photos of the store soon- and I've already shared some snippets on my vine account here and here! It's a REALLY fun place to work!
This blouse was sent to me courtesy of Joules and it is absolutely beautiful! It's the highest quality blouse that I own now because all of my blouses are vintage and thrifted. It's really wonderful to receive something new that no one has worn beside you for once.. haha! It's made from the softest fabric and I love the pleated bib along with the jabot that ties in the front! I will definitely be wearing this blouse for future job interviews and at work! It's very chic and professional. Thank you, Elly! I adore this blouse!

Outfit: Visit to Allerton Park

I went on an adventure to Allerton Park with my friend Nathan Adhikari yesterday because he was scouting out locations for an engagement shoot he's been hired to photograph in a few days. The drive there was about twenty minutes, but I didn't mind because the weather was incredibly beautiful and warm. I always forget how gorgeous the drive is to Allerton... it's almost like being in a different world because it was built in 1903! I could spend countless hours here reading my favorite books, napping, dreaming and drawing without a care in the world. It's nice to get away from the city every so often.
These shoes are courtesy of YesWalker. I love the two toned t-strap and I adore the bow. They're easy to walk in and I've actually been wearing them for the past few days because they are so comfortable. I feel like I can wear them with anything. I get so many compliments on them. They came in this cute little bag with the YesWalker logo to keep my shoes in nice condition. Overall, I love them and would definitely work with YesWalker, again! Thanks so much, YesWalker!

Outfit: Burning Photographs

These adorable shoes are courtesy of Bait Footwear and I adore them so so much. The color is perfect and so is the t-strap. They remind me of the 1970's with the chunky heel, too! They are just my style and very easy to walk in! I definitely recommend them! You should also check out Bait Footwear's website! XO

Thanks so much to my wonderful friends, Anna Longworth and Hannah for coming with me on this shoot!

Lavish Handcrafted: Jasmine Tea & Honey Shea Soap Review

Bonnie and her daughter Amanda Spaanstra from Lavish Handcrafted were kind enough to send me a lot of their beautiful handcrafted soaps last month and I've been enjoying them immensely. I just finished this particular soap off and I'd like to share the results. I naturally gravitated toward the more natural soaps because I always get scared of how my skin will react. I chose this Jasmine Tea and honey Shea soap and it was so pleasant to use that I used the entire bar! The packaging is beautiful and it exfoliated quite well with bits of Jasmine Tea. I loved the faint smell of Jasmine lingering in my bathroom after I had just showered. Also, it didn't leave my skin feeling thirsty... which is something I am very picky about. I felt like it had just the right amount of moisturizer, as well. I can't wait to review the next soap! Thank you for reading and please visit Lavish Handcrafted Soaps if you haven't already!

Saturday

a winter's day..

Hello, there! When Caitlin Michelle e-mailed me asking to do a product review for a lovely set of her hand knitted gloves, hat, and cowl I was SO happy because I've never owned a cowl before. I literally wear it day and night and it keeps my neck so warm. I've even warn it to bed a few times! The gloves are fingerless and they're great when I am on the go and need to text while walking or when I need to dig change out of my coin purse. I love how warm the hat is and the color is perfect. I love green..
I also love the feeling of the yarn she used. It's very soft and never itchy. I really appreciated that!

fall hues

When the lovely people at Cloth Magpie decided to send me a purse of my choice I felt honored considering they use vintage fabric for some of their purses and therefore can only make a limited amount of each style of the Bobble Kiss Vintage Dahlia handbags. I chose a design made from vintage fabric specifically, and it happened to be the 4th out of ten that will ever be made (there's a cute little tag inside that says!). This made it feel so unique to me and I absolutely loved getting to browse through their webpage and picking which was my favorite.
Forgive me for the strong color combination, I'm afraid I go a little nut-so in the Autumn because I get excited about how many new things I can layer! :)
I found the handbag fit absolutely everything I regularly needed to carry.. It has a whole lot more space than I thought it would! The color is beautiful, the shipping was incredibly fast, it's unique (only 9 more like it), and the inside is lined with a lovely hot pink satin. Bonus: it's also vegan! (lined in a faux suede trim). This makes me incredibly happy. Thank you so much, Cloth Magpie! I feel very honored to carry your beautiful creation.

Misikko product review: Hana 1.5" flat iron!

When I got the email from Brian at Misikko.com asking if I'd like to receive one of their flat irons valuing in almost 120 dollars I gladly accepted. I've straightened my hair back in high school but ever since my two Chi straight irons BROKE I haven't bought a new one! I was surprised when I received the package because it was shipped so fast and had all kinds of extra goodies inside like nail files, fake flowers, lipstick, eyeshadow, an eye mask, and an eyebrow pencil! VERY generous! It also came with a cute pouch for the iron and a metal tin to store it in along with a mat to protect the surface of your vanity!
Despite losing a lot of my hair after dying it various colors (black, red, blonde, peach..) my hair is still quite thick and it takes a while to straighten. Even then, it doesn't want to stay straight! The Hana 1.5" iron I received was very good at straightening my hair fast and efficiently! (it's pretty humid outside right now, though.. and my hair is quite upset by this fact and loves to wave) I love how the cord is so long because I totally watched Marie Antoinette while doing so!
I am excited for the winter because then I won't have to worry about so much humidity in the air. I'll continue to use this straight iron as long as it lasts and take photos! Thanks so much, Misikko! I love it!
Here are some new products also by Misikko that you might enjoy: flat irons, curling irons, chi straightening iron.
have a lovely day! I am off to mail some packages♥.
LOVE you! polly
