Outfit: Shame on You (If You Can't Dance, Too)

I already listen to so much disco from day to day, and I've been playing disco endlessly to get in the mood for a new dance piece my friend Chloe is choreographing in May. I am a dancer and also a costumer in the piece and it's called Disco Divine. I am so excited to mix disco costumes with the divine costumes of historical religious figures. Thank you for including me, Chloe! The performance is at the IMPACT festival on Mother's Day weekend.
A little more about this vintage dress I found last week: I was thrifting at Family Thrift store in Logan Square Chicago with my friend Kristin and this adorable cute older lady was holding the dress up on the hanger & I spotted it and started smiling. She looked at me and told me it belongs with me even though the lace was old and ripped up in some spots. I bought it for $10 and went home to sew up the silk lace tears. It fits me perfectly.

vintage find: strawberry tin trays!

Hi, there. I've been zonked out of my mind writing a theatre paper on the ancient Greek masks of comedy. BUT I wanted to show you a very special (and cheap!) vintage find I bought at an estate sale last week. Aren't they cute? I just had to have them upon laying my eyes on their beautiful bodies... haha! I have very special plans for them already, actually. What would you use them for?

my vintage book collection: The Twenties in Vogue

When my costume design teacher sold most of her books last year.. I was there to buy her treasures (I was beyond excited!!). Among her collection was this lovely book which has taught me oh SO much about the 1920's. I love it!
I'm embroidering bow ties tonight! So excited to show you my progress! They will be done on July 20th! I am making plans with my amazing photographer, Nathan Adhikari, soon to do the photoshoot with models! Eeeps!

Lisa's Antique Mall!

For my 21st birthday my Grandma Kutch, my mom, dad, and I took a trip on intersate 55 South and ventured to Lisa's Antique Malls. (Yeah! There were several!) This is what we found:
I've never seen a vintage lunchbox collection as big as this! Simply amazing. My Grandma Kutch (the one who used to own her own antique store) bought me the perfect lunchbox.. literally. I use it all the time! :)

Wednesday

salvation army finds of today!

I was delighted to find these records today for 75 cents each!
West Side Story is one of my most favorite movies! I LOVE musicals and they give me chills! (especially older ones). Have you seen it?
No, My Fair Lady is not my favorite movie by Audrey Hepburn (I have the Breakfast At Tiffany's Soundtrack on vinyl, too!!) but I thought I'd buy it, anyway :) What do you think about My Fair Lady? Yay or nay? (I believe she only sang like.. two of the songs in the movie)
Super excited about this! A great find! I'm getting ready to spin it right nao!
This movie is a classic. Love it.♥
Here is a peek at the letters I sent to my pen pals!
I would love to acquire more pen pals! You can just e-mail me with your address and we'll swap!
Well, I was looking forward to staying in tonight and making some new buttons.. but my cousin called and is having a get together tonight at his house.. this only happens once in a blue moon so... I am off in a flash!
