Christmas in Miami, Coral Gables, Key Largo and Key West

Spending Christmas in Florida has become a tradition in my life and I've been traveling to my Grandmother's little place on the ocean in Key Largo since I was about 5 years old. This year was my first time visiting Wynwood Miami Art district and I felt like I was on another planet where I originated, hah! The first day I arrived alone and picked up a bright blue rental car and drove straight to Wynwood to explore. I visited the most amazing plant store Plant the Future and wandered around the district for most of the day before retiring to a hostel-style airbnb with international travelers. I picked up my first cousin Jaki early the next morning for breakfast and continued exploring Wynwood. We decided to meet my parents the third day in Coral Gables at the Fairchild Tropical Gardens, one of my favorite places in Florida. The fourth day we drove our car down to Key West to stay with Jaki's friend from the military for a three nights. He was so welcoming and kind and even let us sleep in his bed while he took the couch. We explored a private island, built a fire and camped until sundown. We felt enveloped in our own world and I'll never forget wading through water for about 20 minutes to get to and from this island.... it was magic. Thank you, Hatchett. Our last days were spent with my parents in Key Largo at my Grandmother's little place on the ocean. We sun-tanned, napped and ate fresh local hogfish, grouper and key lime pie with champagne. Our very last day was spent exploring South Beach Miami nightlife.

My 27th Birthday Brunch

My 27th birthday was all around fabulous. Although I worked (like I always do) I attended a going away/dance party Friday night and danced my tail off. Friday and yesterday were spent dancing and I think being with friends & dancing really defines having a great birthday :) I made the reservation for Sunday brunch at Kit Kat Club in Boystown yesterday and I was scared no one would show up but thankfully it was so much fun and a lot of people showed. Do you ever get nervous hosting events thinking that no one will show up? That's pretty much why I never host events! Thankfully this was a blast. Thanks to everyone who came to my brunch, spent Friday night dancing with me, wished me happy birthday and thanks to everyone in general who I've connected with in this life. I love you!

Paulie Antiques Floral Work Lately

I loved designing this arrangement for a friend who lives in my building. He saw my work and wanted to give something spectacular to his girlfriend for her birthday. I delivered with this, a 4 foot arrangement. She loves gold! What do you think? xo

Return to New York City

Returning to New York City last week was pretty emotional for me because it was only the second time I've been there.

The first day I arrived into New York was extremely humid and hot, just as I remembered it. My scalp was literally sweating and I had to carry around all my belongings with me in my huge ruck sack... which was the same one I moved to NYC with. As soon as I got into the city I went to central park, explored the floral district and Times Square before meeting up with Hannah in the West Village. We had dinner that night at a cute little place around the corner from her studio. The next day we went to the farmer's market, the fashion exhibit at the MET and Williamsburg to see the Psychic Twin show at Baby's All Right. Being back in Brooklyn was so inspiring and I wanted to visit every single store and every place I used to frequent, but there is never enough time on short trips like this. The third day I met up with my friends Nico and Charles and we went to a party in Brooklyn which I'll never forget. It was so incredible visiting NYC and seeing the people I love. The last day of the trip was spent exploring alone and I have to say that I love those days so much. I love to just wonder around the city and see what happens. What are your favorite things to do while visiting NYC?
