Outfit: Before We Begin...

Lately I've really been inspired by becoming a different person. It's almost like the person in these photos isn't even me- and I like it that way because it shows how diverse my skills are when making myself up to look like a fantasy person rather than reality. It's a sort of escape from every day life and I truly feel beautiful when I dress up in my wigs and eyelashes. I feel like no one can judge me regardless of what I'm wearing- I'm in my comfort zone when I'm wearing a wig. I certainly don't wear them to work, though... they are just for fun. I think it's also really thrilling when people actually think it's my real hair! I love fooling people, haha! It's all good intentions, though. I can't help but feel I am practicing for something bigger and more elaborate in the future, though.... That is still what I am trying to figure out. This is my favorite wig as of late- and I bought it in Uptown at a huge warehouse there where they are more than happy to let me try on all the wigs my heart desires. I went to Nathan Adhikari's studio for these photos. He's always an amazing friend up for anything. Thank you, Nathan! As for the weather- it's turning to Spring around here... I can feel it. I can't wait to get out of the studio and back on the streets of Chicago for my shoots! Happy (soon to be) Spring! Is it turning to Spring where you are? Which photo is your favorite? XO

Outfit: Uptown Girl

Chicago has been brutally cold lately, but that didn't stop Nathan Adhikari and I from walking out to Montrose Beach in Chicago last week to shoot these photos and explore a bit. I live in Uptown right by Montrose Beach by the way... so close that I actually live on Montrose Avenue. It's glorious living so close to the beach in the Spring, Summer & Fall.... but in Winter it's a hassle. I've been meaning to photograph this necklace from Uncommon Goods for a while now. It has become my favorite necklace and I love the long chain the geode dangles on. It's so beautiful and natural and simple... just my style! I love to just slip it over my head and let it dangle. I am into really earthy jewelry and costume jewelry mostly... this is a really classy and finely made necklace and the purple amethyst with gold detail is so classy. I highly recommend this necklace for gifts. I LOVE it! Since the holiday season is coming up, here are some personal gifts and gifts for women from Uncommon Goods ♥.

Outfit: Falling with Change

I bought another new wig a few weeks ago in hopes of changing up my look yet again. It seems change is what I revel in lately and I hardly miss the past or feel nostalgic about it. I do look back at the past and wonder about how I made it through or how carefree my life once was, but it seems I am now speeding towards evolving into my own person and I finally feel like an adult. Paying all of your own bills is gratifying, let's just say that. I love my little Chicago studio in Uptown and it's like I have a little piece of paradise. Uptown has been growing on me so much and I really feel the huge potential it holds. There are fun thrift shops all around me and beautiful houses with plenty of places for me to run all my errands. Uptown tends to get a bad name sometimes, but I defend it so much. I am happy to call Uptown my home.... and I'm happy to call Chicago my home, too. I feel like I'm going in the right direction in life and it really feels fresh and new and inspiring. Every day I am a different person from the day before. There are good people in my life in Chicago and I couldn't be more grateful. I will post a studio tour this week so you can see more of my apartment. I'm off to bed. XO

Thank you to Nathan Adhikari who is not only the photographer of this series- but also one of my best friends.

Saturday

Outfit: Victorian Pink & Black

It's so bizarre to think these photos of me were taken last summer... It seems like just yesterday I was working with Adrienne Weber and Nathan Adhikari to bring Adrienne's items to life and then I rushed off to move to New York City. I definitely forgot to post photos here on my blog of this particular outfit because I've been hand-soaking this bodice from the late 1800's and trying to repair it as time passes. It will be moving to Chicago when I get my own place very soon- and I'll be selling it as a commission item through Adrienne in the Paulie Antiques Shop. Thank you to the ever willing Nathan Adhikari for always taking my photos.

Outfit: Dream State

My schedule has been so strange since begging working at Pump Room... I work mostly weekends and sometimes I am expected to start shifts at 6 AM which requires me to wake up at 4 AM. It feels like a dream almost- I have very weird sleeping hours now. I am so happy to have a steady job, though- I need something to rely on if I am going to stay in Chicago. I made this flower crown last month while visiting my home in Taylorville. It's definitely for sale in the Paulie Antiques shop. I also love this pleated mint skirt c/o Chicwish.. It has a matching fabric belt which I love!
I found this vintage purse while at Goodwill in St. Louis a few years ago and it's been one of my favorite purses ever since... I get so many compliments about it!
I hope you're having a happy week! Stay inspired and work hard!

Outfit: BABEWATCH

Yesterday was a really beautiful day in Chicago. I came home to Lakeview after spending a week at my friend Abby's apartment in Humbolt Park where I was watching her cat, Norman. I checked the mail and this fabulous top came from my amazing friend Miss Grace Eddy. She recently created Babewatch Clothing and already has her designs for sale in the Nylon Magazine Shop! Thank you for the top, Grace... I love it and I love you so much. Meeting Grace in NYC made my life so much happier. Check out my photos of Miss Grace Eddy's Studio tour in Brooklyn!
I spent the day exploring the city by myself with a Thai Iced Coffee c/o Heritage Bicycles & Coffee & Popular Pays and then met up with my friend Camille for a get together in Pilsen. I haven't been to Pilsen for a few years and I'm excited to start getting to know that area of Chicago even better. There is so much to explore in Chicago. I'm only just getting started! ♥.
Congratulations, Grace! Hard work pays off- I miss working with you at the iLuminate Costume Shop every day! Babewatch has a few more pieces in the Nylon Magazine Shop including the Yin Yang Tiny Tank, DUH Mesh Top (green), DUH Mesh top (pink), Faux Fur Tank Top, Black Alien Mesh Tee & Green Alien Mesh Tee.
