Bella Ritz for Paulie Antiques Summer 2012

A little more than a week ago, Nathan Adhikari, Bella Ritz and I took off for a photo shoot. We both really enjoyed working with Bella and she was so kind and polite. Bella is actually my boss' daughter in law (to be) so I met her at Luna Cafe. I immediately gave her my card and asked her if she'd be interested in modeling for me! She said "Yes!" and the rest was history. Bella is actually 14 years old... but she looks much more mature, don't you think?

10 days of family (day eight)

This is a photo of my Great Grandpa Paul James. PJ was his nickname, and it's also my nickname, too (because my name is Polly Jane). I don't mind if you call me PJ sometimes.... it reminds me of how funny and sharp my Great Grandpa PJ was until the very last days of his life. My Grandma Kutch came to visit him in the nursing home probably 8-10 years ago and told him, "Dad, I can't stay long," and he replied, "Okay... why don't you just drive by and honk next time?" That story makes me laugh so hard. I will never forget my Great Grandpa. His wife is still alive at 98 years old. Her name is Pauline Whitmer Lindsey (Polly is her nickname) and I was also named after her.

Sunday

outfit: for the love of fashion

Yesterday, Hannah and I shot some photos for Paulie Antiques. We had quite the time finding railroad tracks, and then we finally stumbled upon them. We totally forgot the first rule of fashion adventuring, however: ALWAYS BRING YOUR FLAT SHOES! I ended up taking a dive and getting some bruises... but it was all worth it in the end... even if I almost did break my neck just because I was wearing Jeffrey Campbells!

Wednesday

Blues in the sky

Yesterday was quite sweltering, but I managed to bare the heat just long enough to put on one of my favorite dresses and my Jeffrey Campbell wedges. My friend Anna and Hannah and I went to a cafe for  iced coffee... it was nice to catch up and laugh. We really do have a great time together.
outfit details: Jeffrey Campbell blue wedges via Modcloth, thrifted and altered dress, vintage repurposed ring, vintage 1950's collar from Lisa's Antiques, tights from Forever 21.

An Interview with Charlotte Clothier!

What is your full name and where are you from?
Charlotte Clothier and I'm from South Wales.
What were your favorite things as a child?
Dolls, cream soda, glazed cherries, doll houses, fairy gardens, flowers, I used to eat pansies!
Do you have any favorite memories from your childhood that still inspire you today?
The 1950's/1960's really inspire me, and things like ice cream sundaes and floral prints come from my childhood memories. I shall never grow up!
What are your favorite films?
Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Virgin Suicides, Lolita and Marie Antoinette, oh and also The Dreamers.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of blogging and fashion?
Making things, decorating shoes with tiny paper roses, reading a book on the grass, walks and adventures, I love discovering little paradises that I can escape from sometimes and forget reality exists.
Where do you love to shop? Do you bargain shop?
I love thrift stores and I mainly work with companies at the moment and they send me clothing. I haven't spent my own money on clothes in ages, or even been shopping.
What are your favorite color schemes?
Pastels, autumn colours like oranges, reds, burgundies, light pinks, creams, beiges, and nudes.
Tell us more about your childhood?
It's quite a sensitive subject for me, it wasn't completely normal in my family but I forgot about all the negative things and escaped into my own world with the pixies and fairies at the bottom on the forest. I loved to run through streams, catch butterflies and eat sticky sweet ice creams.
What is your favorite brand of lipstick?
Rimmel.
Who is your style icon?
Lana Del Rey.
How do you feel blogging has affected your personal life?
It has really given me a passion and a reason to express my love of stories, and anything that inspires me through fashion, I never knew it could get so big like this and I am terrified and yet excited to see what else it has in store for me. x
Thank you for the interview, Charlotte! You are a magical lady and I am so happy to make your acquaintance. Visit Charlotte Clothier's blog!
