Outfit: First Snow

Yesterday was the first snow of this winter season and it looked so beautiful falling from the sky that I wasn't even bothered at work when Christmas music came on. It feels like it's finally time for snow and Christmas music and getting snug & warm with loved ones. Although I will not be spending this Thanksgiving with my family, I will see them for Christmas. I'm looking forward to going home to Taylorville after months and months of not visiting. I love Chicago, but a change of scenery is pivotal! Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Outfit: BABEWATCH

Yesterday was a really beautiful day in Chicago. I came home to Lakeview after spending a week at my friend Abby's apartment in Humbolt Park where I was watching her cat, Norman. I checked the mail and this fabulous top came from my amazing friend Miss Grace Eddy. She recently created Babewatch Clothing and already has her designs for sale in the Nylon Magazine Shop! Thank you for the top, Grace... I love it and I love you so much. Meeting Grace in NYC made my life so much happier. Check out my photos of Miss Grace Eddy's Studio tour in Brooklyn!
I spent the day exploring the city by myself with a Thai Iced Coffee c/o Heritage Bicycles & Coffee & Popular Pays and then met up with my friend Camille for a get together in Pilsen. I haven't been to Pilsen for a few years and I'm excited to start getting to know that area of Chicago even better. There is so much to explore in Chicago. I'm only just getting started! .
Congratulations, Grace! Hard work pays off- I miss working with you at the iLuminate Costume Shop every day! Outfit: Spring in Chicago

Chicago in the Spring has been so pleasant besides the drizzling rain every week... there's mostly sunshine every day and it's funny how many people I actually know in Chicago. I run into a familiar face from college almost every week! I'm starting to warm up to Chicago, but I often miss New York and feeling like there's no where else I'd rather live. Chicago is big enough for me to get my start so I keep reminding myself to count my blessings and be thankful for the fact that my best friend in the entire world is letting me live with her (and her wonderful room mate, Abby!) Thanks, guys! It really means so much . Photos taken by the ever amazing Nathan Adhikari who actually just moved to Chicago, too! :)
Another thing I want to mention is this fabulous dress made by Hunnah Lea. She customized it just how I was dreaming and I even got to pick my fabric! It fits so well and she also offers different lengths and styles as well as my cute little cap sleeves. The crop tops she's offering now are to die for! Check out Hunnah's shop! :)

You Were Swell at Cake Chicago Comic Fair

After seeing Sophie McMahan's drawings at a Champaign-Urbana coffee shop and realizing we were from the same town... I finally found out we had mutual friends. I definitely creeped on her artwork because I'm obsessed... and yesterday at CAKE Chicago I got to meet her! I am wearing her earrings and shirt which she so kindly sent to me in the mail (see second photo). It was great to meet you, Sophie! You're fabulous. Thanks for the package of goodies! Check out Sophie's shop You Were Swell! I'm glad you enjoyed my package, too. XO!

Saturday

Outfit: Lake Michigan

 Watch c/o ChicWish
Happy Saturday! Today I visited Oak Street Beach with my room mates Abby and Lauren. We met up with a cute couple and we all had lunch at a lakeside bar. The weather was wonderful and it felt so peaceful by the beach! I ordered a veggie burger with bacon.... I'm ironic, I guess ^.^
This is my best friend since kindergarden by the way.... her name is Lauren Blakeman and she's a fabulous actress who is moving to Los Angeles soon! I will miss you, Lauren! I'll come visit. I admire you for following your dreams. I love you!!!

Sunday

Outfit: You Forgot it in People

Boy oh boy, where to begin? I'm not really sure who I am at the moment- I'm working like crazy at my new job waitressing and it's eating up my days, but they're busy and that's how I like them. When the days creep by slowly- that is like true torture to me. Today is my day off and I *finally* get to relax a bit. I'm going to practice my accordion, meditate, take a long walk outside and sketch a bit. Although I've been going through a lot of anxiety the past week, I can always count on this album by Broken Social Scene to calm me down: take a listen if you wish! How are you guys? XO
