Thailand Travels

Thailand was better than I ever could have imagined. We took a 15+ hour flight to Taipei, Taiwan & then a 3 hour layover before a 4 hour flight to Bangkok. We spent our first few days in Bangkok enjoying old  buddhist temples, a cat cafe, a raccoon cafe, endless street vendors and Khao San Road.  We booked a bike tour one of the first few days we spent in Bangkok and it was worth the money 100%! Check out Airbnb tours when you're booking your stay.. there are some really great choices! We took a two hour train to Ayutthaya to explore the old capital ruins for a day and a half. We took a private boat tour to 3 wats and went to amazing night markets before getting on the sleeper train to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. Chiang Mai was very trendy and really fun to explore with great night markets and creative places to eat and explore. We spent 4 nights there and took a day trip to Chiang Rai to see the White Temple, Blue Temple and the Black House Museum. On our last couple days we took the sleeper train back to Bangkok to explore one more night before getting back on our plane back to Chicago. What a whirlwind! I already can't wait to go back as soon as possible and I loved Southeast Asia

We found Mangosteen in the off-season! It was so interesting to rip the rinds open with our hands to reach the sweet soft white meat inside. This was my first time trying these beauties!
