Outfit: Spring Snow

Initially, I thought I could never pull off a bob. I tried a few and wrote them off saying that my face was too round or my neck looked funny in them. I decided to give this one a chance today and I am very glad I did. I can see myself maybe wearing this wig out, it's so low maintenance and short. I literally never thought this day would come. As I took photos today it started to snow and the flurries got into my bangs and I was really happy to see the snow despite the declaration of spring... I love to stay indoors and study and create and it's nice to feel like I'm not missing anything that's going on in the outside world. Do you ever feel like that?
I bought this blouse from First Ladies Vintage (now known as lexicon shop) a few years ago and haven't been able to properly display it until now. It's such a fabulous piece from my friend, Niki!

Paulie Antiques Spring 2018 Designs

Mimosa acacia ushers in spring in the most delightful way with it's subtle fresh fragrance that I can't get enough of. It's only around for a limited amount of time so each year I make sure to get out to the wholesaler to purchase some. I dry it every year and it honestly makes me SO excited for spring! Here's a little arrangement I put together today :) XO

Outfit: She's got the Right

Lilacs are growing absolutely EVERYWHERE in Chicago right now and I can't stop snipping away at them and taking them home to put in water and give to neighbors and friends. They fill my studio with such a fresh wonderful scent that instantly enlightens my mood. I spotted these particular lilacs on a bush earlier this week and happened to have my clippers on me today because I was walking home from work (designing floral centerpieces).  It's convenient to already have your tools with you.. haha! These white and purple lilacs are so lust-worthy! I actually haven't seen these before this year! XO. Here is another post of me wearing this same dress!

Outfit: It takes a fast car lady, to lead a double life

For the past few months I cannot stop listening to The Cars. The title of this post is from "Double Life" which I feel really relates to my personal life. It's almost as if I do lead a double life on this blog and then in real life. I like experimenting with different looks and feeling almost like a different person from time to time. It is kind of intriguing to step out of your body and into someone else's, right? My friend Elliott came to Montrose Beach with me yesterday to shoot these photos. The lighting isn't perfect but it actually doesn't bother me too much :) This is my absolute FAVORITE time of the year when the trees are blooming and everything is new. I hope you're having a lovely day! What's your favorite type of blooming tree? I think mine is pink and white Crab Apple! ALSO, who knew that Andy Warhol is in the "Hello Again" music video by The Cars?!
I love this hat from Eugenia Kim! It came to me with the cutest personalized letter. It's made in the USA and 100% wool .

Outfit: She's so Unusual

Today was such a great day! I feel like I really accomplished some things that needed tending to including laundry and cleaning my studio. After I got some work done I visited Salvation Army and hit the mother load of vintage records including a perfect album "She's so Unusual" by Cyndi Lauper. I LOVE feel good music... I just can't get enough! Anyway, Mary Brennan sent me this dress which made my day.. Thanks, Mary! It fits me perfectly. Also, I filmed a Whole Foods Haul that will be uploaded really soon! The weather has been so sunny and cheerful in Chicago that I can't help but smile! I can't believe it's only spring and it's already 80 degrees F! How is your spring going?

Outfit: Lady Lilac

WOW... I am so incredibly obsessed with lilacs this year! It's a new obsession for me as there is a very large lilac bush not far from my studio. I always walk to the bush with my sheers and a couple of bags to harvest some lilac blooms. Alas, lilac season is almost over! The stems are so thick and woody and they always drink a bunch of water. They don't last long before wilting, but they have the most fragrant smell and beautiful purple blooms! What flower is your favorite?
