Chicago adventures: day one

I went to visit the city of Chicago last Monday and Tuesday because my friend Emily is leaving for Philadelphia soon and I have no idea when I'll get to see her again. I also met up with my friend Abby Taylor and Lauren Blakeman along the way. We had a great time and I really enjoyed the getaway so much! I can't wait to go back again. Here are the photos from the first day only...... .

springtime scarves

It's been getting very hot and humid this Spring (Summer officially starts June 20!) and I've taken to wrapping a scarf around my head quite fondly. I really find that it keeps my hair out of my face and keeps me cooler when the sun beats down. I have quite a few scarves collected by now... and the collection is really starting to fill up one of my dresser drawers! Have you tried this trend? This is really the first time in my life I've worn a scarf on my head. How do you like to wear scarves? Any suggestions? I'd love to hear! P.S. Wednesday

A day with Emma

Emmaline recently turned 15 and she and I decided to take some fun photos for her birthday in honor of the occasion. I really love the way her hair falls in her face and frames her eyes, and the silly poses she makes when she doesn't know what else to do. We laughed so much during this shoot! I feel like I could talk and laugh with her all day despite the fact that she just turned 15 and I am turning 23 in August. I love that feeling..... ageless friendship. Here are the photos we took from a few days ago.....

Happy 15th Birthday to Emma! (one more time!)

Sunday

Suitcase Sunday!

Well.... this wouldn't be a REAL Suitcase Sunday without a suitcase and hydrangeas, now would it? :)
Happy Suitcase Sunday to YOU!
XOXO!

Saturday

pit stop..

On the way to my cousin Heather's baby shower we decided to make a "pit stop" at Rebecca's Antiques in Taylorville (my favorite store in town!). We all love the store and I knew the side of her building would be a great chance for photos :)
My Grandmother Jane Kutch who opened her own antique shop in Taylorville called, "Plain Jane's Antiques."
My mother, Kelly, and I :)
Hope your weekend is going well! I'm just enjoying some quality time with my family today... much needed!

Alisa Greene for Paulie Antiques Summer 2012

Alisa Greene and I have had mutual friends for quite some time now.. but we never actually had the luck of meeting face to face. After a short conversation and exchanging phone numbers the other day, we were off on our adventure. Let me just say that I might have known somewhere deep in my brain that this dress would look great on her because I literally picked this dress out for her first! (I only chose two options for her outfit... and they were both 1960's style floral dresses). I suppose I knew she would pull them off :) We had a great time getting to know each other a little better and finding a neat pastel blue car that we both loved! I hope to see you soon, Alisa! I am obsessed with your hair.... can you tell? :D

Paulie Antiques Vintage Look Book Summer 2012

Yesterday my friend Rachel came to town and we spent a couple of hours picking out outfits, doing her make up, and drinking wine. We drove out to the sculpture park and Anna Longworth took photos along with me. We had a great time. Thus begins the Summer season for Paulie Antiques! I can't wait to share more with you soon! XO!
Here are the photos that Anna took:
