Outfit: Andy Warhol Halloween
It's no secret that I am completely obsessed by Andy Warhol's life, art, hobbies, interests, friends and legacy. When I lived in New York City this same time last year, I read a fabulous book on his life from the New York City Library called, "Pop: The Genius of Andy Warhol" and I laughed so many times at his humor and behavior. I went to see his Gold Marilyn and Campbell Soup Cans along with one of his Death & Disaster Paintings with Kate Gabrielle at MOMA in NYC, too! Kate gifted me a fabulous "Warhol Fan Club" pin, too. Thank you so much, Kate! I also picked up a huge carrot juice obsession after learning that is what Andy Warhol drank all of the time. I seriously can't get enough of the Andy Warhol Museum Twitter and I tune into Andy's grave camera that's live 24/7 and it calms me. I adore his work and his style.... a true artist who lived and breathed art yet is so misunderstood at the same time by the general public. I've always been obsessed with designing shoes and it turns out Warhol was quite obsessed with feet & designing shoes as well. I really wish now that I would have gone to the store to buy some silver balloons for this shoot since Andy was obsessed by silver (known to obsess people on amphetamines, which Andy was). He turned the every day into art by taking grocery store items and turning them into art.. thereby questioning, "what is art and what isn't?"

BEST ACTRESS OF ALL TIME: KATE WINSLET
Although this short film parodies Kate Winslet as the "BEST ACTRESS OF ALL TIME," I think it is quite debatable that she, in fact, is. If you have been reading my blog for some time, you will know that Kate Winslet is absolutely hands down my favorite actress in the world and a small portion of my body (my left arm, specifically) is dedicated in ink to the role she played in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I thoroughly enjoy the works of Matthew Frost and this video with Kate is just the hammer hitting the nail on the head. What a unique and self aware presence Kate always holds.... she is truly a goddess in all aspects and humble to boot. In an insecure moment after a mediocre interview, she wonders who the best actress of all time really is- so she googles it. She eventually is surprised to find a photo of herself. I love you, Kate Winslet!

Inside my Inspiration Sketchbook
Last night I wasn't feeling too well and I decided to sit down and collage some magazines my friend Hannah gave to me after she was done reading them. She makes notes on them and it was interesting to read her thoughts vs seeing what I collaged from the magazines. Thank you for the magazines, Hannah! Anyway- I've had this particular sketchbook for exactly 4 years now and it serves as a quick sketch and an inspirational place for me to collage and get inspired by colors and shapes. I like to take notes in this book, too... and you might be able to make out some notes I took from my first fashion collection from last year. It's a calm place for me.... I highly suggest journaling in this way! Happy Sunday to YOU!

NOW DID I JUST FIND A CUTE SHOE, OR DID I JUST FIND A CUTE SHOE?
I need to have at least 12,000 more pairs of shoes. Don't you think?
I love these so much... but alas, the only clues to the designer is from here. SAD.

quite possibly the most interesting thing I own..
(lower photo courtesy of Nathan Adhikari)
Hi! I was looking through this 1923 fashion magazine I purchased last year from my costume design teacher and I've been collecting SO much inspiration from it! It's so neat to see designs from the 1920's because those are the ones that tend to inspire me the most (besides the 1860's!). I am planning to do a small little DIY project with these two things very soon :). Can you guess what it is? Happy Sunday!

inspiration from afar
The artwork of Myoung Ho Lee astonishes me. He is a South Korean artist and photographer with a wonderful knack for acting as if nature should be put on display. I love this idea because I am obsessed with nature and have always wanted to take photos of leaves against the sky at all times of the day. I also think it's bloody brilliant when you happen to find a tree standing all by its lonesome. I think all of these photos are inspirational to the highest degree! What do you like about them?
have a lovely Thursday!
