My 27th Birthday Brunch

My 27th birthday was all around fabulous. Although I worked (like I always do) I attended a going away/dance party Friday night and danced my tail off. Friday and yesterday were spent dancing and I think being with friends & dancing really defines having a great birthday :) I made the reservation for Sunday brunch at Kit Kat Club in Boystown yesterday and I was scared no one would show up but thankfully it was so much fun and a lot of people showed. Do you ever get nervous hosting events thinking that no one will show up? That's pretty much why I never host events! Thankfully this was a blast. Thanks to everyone who came to my brunch, spent Friday night dancing with me, wished me happy birthday and thanks to everyone in general who I've connected with in this life. I love you!

My 25th Birthday in Chicago

Last year I spent my birthday searching for an apartment in NYC- crying, sweating, swearing & stressed. This year I am still searching for an apartment but I'm in Chicago. Another year, another number. What is age anyway? Are we a product of our our age or our experiences? Today is very low key for me- I'm spending it at one of my favorite coffee shops in the morning and then working at Pump Room tonight. I'm happy, though... I've learned not to expect anything on my birthday and letting go of those expectations has really set me free. Every day I'm growing, learning, exploring and working harder and smarter than I ever have to make my dreams come true. Thank you for being here. I love you guys.
Here's to 25. XO

My 24th Birthday in Princeton, NJ and New York City..

I visited Hannah and her wonderful family in Princeton, NJ the last couple of days and we laughed, ate, explored and rode bikes. It is so beautiful there. I love eating with her family- there is always interesting conversation and laughing constantly. I learn so much around them. I treasure the time when I am at their house. Thank you for letting me sleep on your couch and feeding me when I needed it most. You guys mean so much to me. I am in your debt.
I am another year older... and I found my very own apartment in New York City yesterday. After much stress, tears, searching, back aching, and money- I found it. It's my own. Thank goodness. I can relax a bit, now! Thank you for the happy birthday wishes on my last post!

My 22nd Birthday at Red Velvet..

Last weekend for my 22nd birthday, I drove down to Springfield, MO to visit Red Velvet! It was quite a long drive.. about 800 miles total. It was worth every mile! I enjoyed visiting Red Velvet and found that it was ten times better in person! Their hat box collection was astonishing and the quality of their dresses and all of their vintage clothing was absolutely phenomenal. Elsie and she came over and greeted us and gave us a peach bubble tea and red velvet cake pop... it was very welcoming and sweet! I insisted we pay for the treats but she simply said, "No! It's your birthday!"
Later, I met Mallory, Elsie's intern for her fall dress line and Emma, her sister who runs the sweet shoppe. Anyway, everyone was very warm and welcoming and I wanted to buy the dress in the photo above that I am wearing but alas had no money after my road trip excursion. Just the experience alone was amazing and totally fulfilling..
I also forgot to tell you that I brought Emma and Elsie little presents :) I gifted two of my bow tie designs to them and they both just snapped them right on! They chose the exact ones I thought they would and looked very sweet in them.
